I wont forget about this technique for future reference though, it’s a very helpful thing to know. Also, is there any additional information that you can share from the device properties of the unknown device in device manager?

I’ll still create a restore point anyway before running that apci but this came to mind and thought to stop while I was ahead, get this over with, then have that to fall back on in case a system restore didn’t go right, which has happened before.
