I recently installed Xubuntu on my laptop, dual booted with Windows. Everything works perfectly on the Windows side, but Xubuntu for some reason either doesn’t recognise or can’t access my network card, so I can’t connect to the wifi. As you can see, I’ve found out my wireless card, loaded it ath9k and tested if it has been loaded but it doesn’t appear as an ath, wlan or something like that. I have a HP dvnr on a Debian system. So then its driver is OK on Linux I guess. If it still does not work, add the follwoing command: The most likely cause of your problem is the lack of wrieless up-to-date version of your driver. I have seen other problems with this particular card but so far none of the workarounds seem to work and the problems have been with older versions of Ubuntu and none specific to Toshiba Satellite notebooks. Thank you for your help, I didn’t realize that there is a new version of Debian and if you hadn’t suggested me to upgrade my Debian I would have lost more time with this problem. If that doesn’t help I’m afraid I can’t offer much more suggestion Turn the pc off and back on, it should work. Wifi is hit-and-miss in Linux unfortunately. Hi Evo2, thank you for replying!
