The MSD box is only being used to fire the coil. Make sure you have a good ground connection from the batteries negative terminal to the engine, and from the engine to the frame as well. This is a pin for the ‘sense’ connection on a throttle position sensor. Add a wheel, or something similar for crank position 3. This is a 5 volt supply for the throttle position sensor and the MAP sensor. This then uses the flyback spike off the coil as a trigger rather than the 12 Volt signal. I wouldn’t mind being the one to figure out how to make a Vmax ignition work On the other hand, I would like to have my motorcycle running soon. All of the ground wires should be run to the same spot on the engine to avoid ground loops. I have been looking for to find out a solution but with no luck If someone really get Vmax engine ignition work with Microsquirt then I think there would be many happy faces here.

I’m pretty sure this is a lot for a beginner to take on, but I am an electrical engineer with a fair amount of programming and a little milling machine experience, so maybe I have a chance??? This pin is used to receive data from the laptop computer serial port usually a DB9 or DB The coil’s primary current can generate a lot of noise inside the MicroSquirt.
I have some parts, but I am definitely a 6 months away from diving into the project.
